At Piedmont Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, P.A., we are pioneers in understanding and resolving pain. Our practice offers a broad scope of services, which help us identify and heal the root cause of your pain, and provide long-term improvement and relief. Our treatment alternatives include:

Migraine, Mixed Headache, and TMJ

Finding a doctor who will help you to identify all your headaches from migraine, mixed headache, to TMJ can be a challenge.  Many people however travel to Greenville from surrounding areas such as Spartanburg, Anderson, Ashville, and Hendersonville for just that purpose.  In reality most people with chronic daily headaches such as migraine, mixed headache, and TMJ have numerous types or sources for their headaches.   Others include sinus, weather sensitive, stress, postural mechanical, cervicogenic (arising from the neck), and vasomotor (involving the autonomic nervous and vascular systems).  Fortunately there are many treatment options for migraine, mixed headache, and TMJ, as well as other headache types.   And while medications help, treatment directed toward the root cause of each headache type can lead to long term, lasting relief.  Learn more about migraine, mixed headache, and TMJ at piedmontpmr.com.

Hypermobility and Lax Ligament Treatment

There are not alot of places in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson that specialize in the treatment of hypermobility and lax ligament but at Piedmont Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PA that is exactly what we do.  Hypermobility and lax ligament syndromes share alot in common.  In many ways they represent different ends of the spectrum of the same disease.   In the case of lax ligaments someone might just be loose and not even double jointed.  On the other end of the spectrum hypermobility implies that the laxity is unusual; it is beyond being double jointed.  Like any other medical problem the more severe the disorder the harder it is to treat.   Fortunately several regenerative medicine techniques ranging from prolotherapy (to proliferate), PRP (platelet rich plasma), to stem cell in conjunction with other traditional and wellness oriented techniques can offer remarkable improvement in people with hypermobility and lax ligament syndromes.  Learn more about these treatments, and other options, at piedmontpmr.com.

Fibromyalgia Care In Greenville

Greenville Rocks!   If you have been in Greenville for any length of time you know that it has transformed itself into a real destination.  People come to visit Greenville from all over in order to enjoy its vibrant downtown, great restaurants, parks, and yes, for Fibromyalgia care.  Piedmont Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PA is  proud to offer Fibromyalgia Care in Greenville.  I also serve as Medical Director for the Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital System’s Fibromyalgia program.  It may be the only one of its kind in the country.  Just being a fully recognized and accepted program inside a hospital system is unique for Fibromyalgia in and of itself. We have traditional restorative therapy as part of the offering but after that the program is far from typical.   As Medical Director patients are seen in my office with an emphasis on both diagnosing and treating the root causes (there is no singular cause for Fibromyalgia) of each patient’s condition with the goal of restoring health.  There is no silver bullet, and it takes time and commitment from both the myself and the afflicted, but with this approach we have been able to improve quality of life in the majority of our patients. Plus we have a medical staff that is sensitized to the diagnosis, key specialists that have agreed to participate as members of the program, and multiple options for access for those who have financial restrictions.   I am proud of our outcomes and think you will be too.  If you have Fibromyalgia all you need to do is make an appointment and come ready to do what it takes to get well.  Learn more about our approach to Fibromyalgia at piedmontpmr.com.
