Hypermobility As A Source of Chronic Pain
Hypermobility is the medical term for loose ligaments. Some people have extreme cases (like those who are double jointed and in the circus) and other have mild cases (they are just loose). Many people who have even mild forms of hypermobility have aches and pains. Since their ligaments do not hold their joints together very well they are more prone to joint and soft tissue pain or arthritis. At Piedmont Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PA we have special interest in hypermobility and offer a wide array of treatment options.
