Medical Thermography For World Health

While Medical Thermography has not yet enjoyed widespread use in the United States momentum is growing on an international level.   For example the recent International Consensus and Guidelines In Medical Thremography (ICGMT) on line symposium attracted 18,000 registrants and 197,000 views.   Last week I spoke at the United Nations/World Heath Organization on the use of Medical Theromography For Physical Disabilities and Non-Communicable Disease to a warm and receptive audience.   This is how movements start.  As medical infrared technology improves and costs have come down (both at a dramatic rate since the Gulf War and 9/11 in the United States) access has grown.  Through endeavors like the ICGMT and the creation of internationally peer reviewed Guidelines for Neuromusculoskeletal, Breast, Veterinarian, and Oral – Systemic Disorders by the American Academy of Thermology (AAT) the medical community is gaining respect for and an understanding of the utility of Medical Thermology in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.   There are many other examples of international activity including the European Association on Thermology Congress being held this September in Madrid, Spain and the Asian Congress of Thermology being held this November in Seoul, S. Korea.  At Piedmont Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, PA we are happy to offer a wide spectrum of Medical Thermology services.  Visit us at piedmontpmr.com
